Irish have only this year and next to join the list before the NCAA
four-team playoff begins in 2014.

The last time Notre Dame played in the city of Miami, a 31���26 Orange Bowl defeat to Florida State.
The Irish were 8-9-1 all time in the now-razed Orange Bowl ��� 2-3
in the bowl game and 6-6-1 versus the University of Miami. This
year���s BCS Championship Game will be Notre Dame���s first game in
Sun Life Stadium. Notre Dame is 1-0 against Alabama in Miami ��� a
13-11 victory in the Orange Bowl on Jan.��1, 1975.
