football recruiting Still In The Hunt With limited spots left in 2013, Notre Dame revisits the recruitment of several touted prospects that committed to other schools By Jason Sapp W hile having limited spots left in a recruiting class can be a disadvantage, there are programs that are able to use that situation to their advantage Notre Dame is an example of a school in that power position on the recruiting front. The Irish had already filled many of their needs heading into the 2012 season, which allowed the coaching staff to focus more on getting wins on Saturdays while also setting up a game plan to pursue the difference-makers that remain on the recruiting board. Here���s a look at six targets Notre Dame has made a move on to gauge interest with limited openings left in the class. RB Ty Isaac 6-2, 215, Joliet, Ill. (Joliet Catholic) ��� Committed to USC 247Sports Ranking: Four-star recruit, No. 2 player in Illinois, No. 7 running back in the nation and No. 75 overall prospect in the land. Quick Take: Isaac has been verbally committed to USC since mid-May, but the Irish coaching staff was able to work its way back into his school to sit down and talk about the opportunities at Notre Dame during the contact period ��� While he noted that he���s a ���solid commit��� to BlueandGold.com heading into his USC official visit over the Dec.��7 weekend, he was at least giving the Irish a listen after not allowing Ohio State to talk to him ��� He appears to be wavering some on his choice, but his parents are said to be the ones keeping him firm on his pledge. RB Dontre Wilson 5-10, 165, DeSoto, Texas ��� Committed to Oregon 247Sports Ranking: Four-star prospect, No. 14 player in Texas, No. 6 all-purpose running back in the land and No. 107 overall recruit nationally. Quick Take: Wilson, a newcomer to the radar, gave a late-May commitment to Oregon and as with a number of the Ducks commitments, there���s a slight window of opportunity there with the rumors about Chip Kelly potentially leaving the program ��� His current focus is on his team���s run in the state playoffs, but he could open things back up when his campaign concludes ��� Notre Dame and Ohio State look to be in the top three with Oregon if he does go back on the market ��� The Buckeyes have the
