It was just a matter of time before making it official. commitment profile jimmy byrne The Cleveland St. Ignatius junior offensive guard offered his commitment to Notre Dame while his recruiter, Harry Hiestand, was still within the walls of the school building, and the next step in the process was sealing the deal during a conversation with head coach Brian Kelly ��� nearly a week later. ���My whole family was really excited,��� the 6-4, 275-pound four-star player said. ���It was just a relief to have it done and know that we didn���t have anything to worry about with Notre Dame. It was real nice to hear Coach Kelly welcome me to the family and that they���re looking forward to having me.��� Byrne���s high interest in the Irish began when he attended a one-day camp in South Bend in June. ���That���s really when I got to see all the tradition around the university for the first time,��� he said. ���I also got to work with Coach Hiestand one-onone, and that���s really when I started to like Notre Dame. I was really impressed with him, and he seemed like a great teacher.
