just wanted to celebrate, and I thought it was awesome. Kentucky lost a couple days later to Baylor, which was throttled by Northwestern Dec. 4. College basketball anytime you try and figure this thing out The University of Illinois-Chicago beat Northwestern a couple days ago, Brey said. Need I go on? Its crazy. I dont know if Kentuckys loss to Baylor affected us much or if we felt it diminished our win. I think we needed to do that in that atmosphere that night. Now we need the Wildcats to grow up and go on a heck of a streak in the SEC. Irish freshman forward Cameron Biedscheid, other than a frame that could use some extra bulk, seemingly arrived in South Bend all grown up. In 17.2 minutes per game, the 67 St. Louis product is averaging 9.0 points per game. He put up 10 points and drained two big three-pointers against the Wildcats. Awesome, Brey said of Biedscheids performance. Im not surprised at all. Hes a bright-lights guy. To come in and score for us he rebounded for us, too. He got us some big rebounds [three total]. We ran an out-of-bounds play for him, and he sticks a jump shot. I just feel good about him coming off the bench and scoring. He feels he belongs. Whats more important is the veteran guys feel, Come on in here; we need you. Austin Carr Honored As part of the 75th anniversary of the NCAA Mens Basketball Champi- onship, the NCAA named the top 75 all-time March Madness players, with Irish legend Austin Carr (196871) making the list. Carr is Notre Dames all-time career scoring leader with 2,560 points and a 34.6 career scoring average. He ranks as the greatest scorer in NCAA Tournament history thanks to his 41.3 points-per-game career-scoring average in March games. Carr still holds the NCAA Tournament single-game scoring record with 61 points against Ohio University in 1970, one of six Big Dance marks he holds. He has posted three of the top five single-game scoring efforts in tournament history. 2012-13 Results/ Upcoming Schedule Date Nov. 10 Nov. 12 Nov. 16 Nov. 17 Nov. 21 Nov. 24 Nov. 26 Nov. 29 Dec. 8 Dec. 15 Dec. 17 Dec. 19 Dec. 21 Jan. 5 Jan. 7 Jan. 12 Jan. 15 Opponent (TV) Result/Time (ET) Evansville$ W, 58-49 Monmouth$ W, 84-57 vs. St. Josephs# L, 79-70 (OT) vs. BYU# W, 78-68 George Washington W, 65-48 St. Francis (Pa.)
