46 THE WOLVERINE SEPTEMBER 2022 BY EJ HOLLAND I t's never too early to start thinking about future classes. While the Wolverines are focused on closing strong with the 2023 recruiting class, the U-M staff has already identi- fied several top-tier prospects in the 2025 class. Contact is limited with ris- ing sophomores due to NCAA rules, but Michigan is making an impression on several players listed on On3's initial 2025 Top 100 Watch List. On3's rating scale is as follows: five- star prospects have grades 98-100, four-star recruits have grades 90-97, while 80-89 grades are for three-stars. Here is a breakdown of where the Wolverines stand with each of the 22 offered targets featured on the list (On3 ratings in parentheses): QB BRYCE UNDERWOOD, 6-3, 202, Belleville (Mich.) High (91) Michigan has had its issues recruit- ing from in-state powerhouse Belleville. However, assistants Ron Bellamy and Steve Clinkscale both have strong local ties and have been hard at work repair- ing bridges. Underwood is a supreme talent with a terrific frame and a cannon for an arm. The Wolverines hosted him for a visit earlier this offseason and will be making him a priority in 2025. Expect this one to be a national recruitment with several other top programs also involved. QB RYAN MONTGOMERY, 6-2, 200 Findlay (Ohio) High (90) U-M lost out on Montgomery's older brother Luke, who committed to Ohio State this cycle. But that doesn't mean the Wolverines can't score big with Ryan. They've already hosted him on multiple visits and are a top contender for him. Montgomery is expected to be back on campus this fall and already has a growing relationship with quarterbacks coach Matt Weiss. Just because Luke sided with the Buckeyes does not mean Ryan is an OSU lock. QB CUTTER BOLEY, 6-5, 205 Hodgenville (Ky.) Lexington Christian (90) Michigan offered Boley on an unof- ficial visit earlier this summer and got him back on campus for the BBQ at The Big House. While Montgomery and Un- derwood are more familiar names, Boley is a prospect quickly rising up the future quarterback board. U-M is in a strong spot after his two visits, but SEC schools like Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee have offered, and are also involved early on. QB GEORGE MacINTYRE, 6-5, 180, Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy (90) MacIntyre has strong football blood- lines. His grandfather, George, was a former head coach at Vanderbilt, while his uncle, Mike, is the current head coach at Florida International. MacIntyre is making his own name on the recruiting trail and already has offers from Michigan, Ole Miss, Pitt, Vanderbilt and others. Head coach Jim Harbaugh personally extended an offer to MacIntyre at U-M's summer satel- lite camp in Miami after watching him throw live. The next step is getting him on campus. RB JORDON DAVISON, 6-0, 205 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei (90) Davison is one of the premier young running backs nationally and the next great player out of national powerhouse Mater Dei, where the Wolverines landed wide receiver Cristian Dixon during the 2021 recruiting cycle. Davison visited Michigan for the game against Ohio State last November and notched an of- fer during the spring evaluation period. Area recruiter Jay Harbaugh and di- rector of recruiting operations Albert Karschnia both have been hard at work developing relationships with those around Davis' recruitment. RB JAMARION PARKER, 6-0, 185 St. Louis Cardinal Ritter (90) U-M is making it a point to recruit St. Louis harder, and area recruiter Jay Harbaugh sent out a handful of offers to prospects in the city, including Parker. A teammate of Michigan wide receiver commit Fredrick Moore, Parker is still learning about the program. But with Moore on board and the Michigan's suc- cess with fellow St. Louis native and former Wolverine running back Hassan Haskins, U-M should be a contender in his recruitment moving forward. RB TAEVION SWINT, 5-10, 175 Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola (90) Area recruiter George Helow made sure Michigan was one of the first   FOOTBALL RECRUITING U-M's Early Offers On The Initial On3 2025 Top 100 Watch List The Wolverines have already hosted and offered Belleville (Mich.)
