The Irish made notable impressions on many of those visiting recruits, including three 2027 players from Rolesville (N.C.) High: running back Amir Brown, safety Marquis Bryant and wide receiver An- thony Roberts. They rank as Rivals' Nos. 24, 7 and 10 juniors in the Tar Heel State, respectively. After their visit, Blue & Gold Illustrated recruiting insider Mike Singer and Rivals vice president of recruiting Steve Wiltfong reported that the Irish were in the pole position for all three — and that commitments could be coming soon. About three weeks removed from their trip to South Bend, Blue & Gold Illustrated has learned that the buzz only favors Notre Dame for Bryant, Rivals' No. 21 safety nationally and No. 222 overall player in the class. A source with knowledge of all three recruitments told BGI that the Irish remain well-positioned for the 5-foot-11, 185-pound defensive back. How- ever, there's a sense that it is not as urgent for Notre Dame to add Brown and Roberts to the class right now. • Meanwhile, Brown, a three-star prospect that Rivals ranks as the No. 45 running back nationally, appears to be trending toward Nebraska. The 5-11, 200-pounder has made back-to-back visits to Lincoln to see the Cornhuskers and has since hinted on social media about committing to Matt Rhule's program. • The direction of Roberts' recruitment is less clear. The four-star pros- pect, whom Rivals ranks as the No. 38 wide receiver and No. 296 overall player nationally, has attended games at Clemson, Duke, North Carolina and Penn State this season. Duke could be one to watch — his father, Anthony Roberts Sr., was a letterwinner for the Blue Devils from 2000-02. The younger Roberts has not commented to Rivals about any of his favorites. • Though momentum may be shifting away for Brown and Roberts, Bry- ant remains a strong candidate to eventually join Notre Dame's 2027 class. Still, the Irish will have to beat out Ohio State, Clemson, Tennessee, North Carolina, Nebraska, Penn State, Florida State and Texas A&M. — Kyle Kelly Rolesville (N.C.)
