Sidelined several weeks at the end of last year because of a broken collarbone, Daniels rebounded with
six catches for 115 yards in the BCS National Championship Game against Alabama.

DaVaris Daniels: The Next Breakout Artist?
Who will be Notre Dame's breakout player on offense in 2013?
That athlete is defined as the one who has demonstrated "flashes" but never quite yet put together the
full, consistent campaign. Last year on offense for Notre Dame it was running back Theo Riddick and wideout
TJ Jones.
If it's not one of the three junior running backs — George Atkinson III, Amir Carlisle or Cam McDaniel —
another good bet is junior wide receiver DaVaris Daniels, with the way pass catchers seem to follow the
pattern best. In 2011, Tyler Eifert went from a developing 27-catch man the previous year to a tight end
school-record 63 receptions his junior season while repeatedly making clutch grabs. Last year, Jones went
from a ho-hum 9.6 yards per catch safety valve option in 2011 to a 50-catch (same as Eifert) playmaking
target who increased his yards per catch average to 13.0.
