Through four games, Countess was tied for fourth on the team with 20 tackles (two for loss)
and led the Wolverines with three interceptions.

"You're trying to get him better and
get yourself better.
"He worked his tail off all offseason. He got in the training room, and
he got back to 100 percent quicker
than a lot of people thought he would.
And he could cut, go lateral, everything. He was all over the place."
Finding His Groove
During the first few fall camp ses-
sions, Countess had to shake some of
the rust off. He hadn't worn pads —
much less played full-speed football
— in almost a year.
Even after the first game of the season, Countess admitted that he felt a
little like a freshman, adjusting to the
speed of the game. But eventually it
all came back to him, and the coaches
felt confident enough in his ability to
give him even more responsibility.
