from our readers Good Riddance, Irish Dear The Wolverine: Michigan should not renew its series with Notre Dame in the future, except to play the home game they owe us. I have always felt that the series benefited the Irish (with recruiting in Michigan) much more than it helped the Wolverines. Now with the expanded Big Ten, Michigan not only has exposure in its vital traditional recruiting area (Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania), but with the additions of Maryland and Rutgers will be able to further mine the talent-rich MidAtlantic and New Jersey areas. We are already seeing the benefits in those areas! Since Michigan also recruits nationally, I would like to see two-year home-and-home deals with teams from the SEC, Pac-12 and Big 12. Texas, California and the deep South are loaded. U-M last played (nonbowl game) against a Texas power (Texas A&M) in 1977. Could you see Georgia in The Big House and Michigan playing between the hedges? Great stuff! Playing one power and two lesser squads in non-conference is ideal.   Be Heard! Junior defensive end Frank Clark and the Wolverines got the best of the Fighting Irish this season, and some readers won't be sorry to see Notre Dame off U-M's schedule in the future. photo by Lon horwedel Michigan is still a work in progress and still can't knock people off the ball to run in a traditional Iformation. Please give Chris Bryant a chance. The future looks bright, and by 2015, nobody will out-talent Michigan. Talent is on the way and the current players will continue to grow. I only wish Damien Harris was a 2014 recruit. Derrick Green will need to be 220 pounds to be at his best. Look at Montee Ball at Wisconsin. He lost 30 pounds and went from solid to the best back in America! Just a few thoughts from a Michigan lover! Kevin G. Smith Orange, Calif.
