Championship GoalsSports Michigan's Fall Olympic Are Pursuing Big Ten Titles And NCAA Tournament Bids P By Andy Reid erhaps no slogan or tradition has united and defined Michigan athletics quite like coaching legend Bo Schembechler's famous "The Team, The Team, The Team" saying. Every coach that comes to Ann Arbor becomes instantly familiar with those words and will use them to rally his or her players toward the ultimate common goal of a championship. That approach extends beyond the locker room and into Weidenbach Hall, home to many of the Olympic sports coaches' offices. "At Michigan, you talk about The Team, The Team, The Team. All of our coaches preach that to their players," volleyball head coach Mark Rosen said. "But it's overwhelming across the department. We're all there to support each other. Our resources are there for everyone, so no one feels slighted or that they don't have a chance to compete. Everyone feels supported to compete at the highest level, and with that, we support each other. "We have some great coaching minds here, and we all feed off each other. Everyone is open to help. [Men's basketball coach] John Beilein is always there if you want to ask him a question. [Football coach] Brady Hoke, too, and [softball coach] Carol Hutchins. Everybody is open to that, and it's a really good group that is very open with each other." And it has been a fun year for the Wolverines' fall-sport coaches. Rosen's team made a historic run to last season's Final Four, before falling to eventual national champion Texas in five sets. Men's soccer head coach Chaka Daley oversaw an incredible transformation in 2012, his first season. The Wolverines went 5-8-1 to start the year before ripping off five consecutive victories to reach the championship game of the Big Ten Tournament, ultimately losing to Michigan State 2-1 in overtime.
