from our readers future. However, I know that there is no such court of appeal. There were about 12 minutes left when the costly interception in the end zone occurred. Talk about feelings. One could feel the instant momentum shift. Twelve minutes for Notre Dame to whittle away at the Michigan lead that had dwindled to seven points. And Michigan burned a timeout to review that interception just before the Notre Dame kicker missed the extra point, negating that kick, subsequently made. Would that come back to impact the outcome of the game? No, it did not, we know now. I thought the football world was caving in on Michigan. A silly gift touchdown was bad enough, but now key players were leaving the game with injuries. My feeling at that point was one of despair, and it was time to start thinking about invoking the saying that it is just a football game. Maybe so, but it is a really important football game in the sports scheme of things. The last Notre Dame drive was right down the field. Then a pass gets deflected by Desmond Morgan onto the leg of Raymon Taylor where it pops into the air, permitting Blake Countess to intercept the ball, ending the Notre Dame drive. Talk about feelings. I am feeling distraught about the upcoming Notre Dame touchdown one second followed by elation, when the improbable turnover seals the victory for Michigan. I add that the day after the Michi- gan victory, I am feeling that those pass interference calls were the right calls, first on Jeremy Gallon, and then on Devin Funchess. The one that will be talked about is the first one on Gallon, who was pushed out of bounds by the defender before he had a chance to catch the ball, not just a little back and forth shoving going for the ball as stated by Kirk Herbstreit. The sweet taste and feeling of victory over Notre Dame linger on, probably until Sept. 13, 2014, when they get to do it again for the last time, at least for a while. J. Richard Jaconette, M.D. Battle Creek, Mich. The Wolverines indeed had one to celebrate, Dr. J. … perhaps a bit too long. Either way, it's on to bigger and better considerations, like the chase for a Big Ten championship. Tom's Smooth Delivery Dear The Wolverine: Thank you Tom (Brady). What a great talk you gave to the Michigan football team. I hope it was recorded and that they play it before every football game. If that doesn't fire them up, I don't know what will. Great talk, Tom. Bill Heckman Pewamo, Mich. Not bad, having a three-time Super Bowl champ in the team speech bullpen, eh Bill? ✦
