THEY SAID IT Brian Kelly's Comments: "The thing that really put him over the top for us is when we were watching his film he was returning kickoffs in high school. Not many times do you see a defensive lineman returning kickoffs. We knew about his athletic abil- ity right away, and certainly we loved the fact that he was a multisport player — was a track athlete. "When Coach [Bob] Diaco was here before he moved on to Connecticut, [he] got a chance to see him in track practice and got a chance to see his footwork and his quickness and all those things, and that started the recruiting process for us." Tom Lemming Of Prep Football Report: "Physically, Andrew already looks ready for Notre Dame. He will get great coaching from defensive line coach Mike Elston. He's not a dominating player yet, but he will develop really well. I think he has a ton of upside, but he's not yet the explosive player that he will become." Trumbetti On Why He Chose Notre Dame: "I think attending Notre Dame is the right decision for me. I want to play early, and I want to get bigger and stronger. I am not going to redshirt, I'm early enroll- ing, and I believe it's going to be a great decision for me."
