THEY SAID IT Brian Kelly's Comments: "He has been probably one of our, I would say, best recruiters in a sense. From day one, he's talked about Notre Dame and why you make a decision to come to Notre Dame. I remember one of his quotes when I was with him was, 'Coach, some of these guys don't get it. They don't really understand why you would come to Notre Dame.'" Tom Lemming Of Prep Football Report: "Jay proved to be very versatile. If Notre Dame doesn't get a true defensive tackle, I think he could be moved inside and maybe redshirted to gain about 20-30 pounds. I think that would be a better posi- tion for him anyway. I actually loved him on of- fense, but they've got enough offensive linemen." Poly Prep Head Coach Dino Mangiero's Com- ments: "He uses his hands really well. He's a good football player. You don't get a 6-4 kid at 270 pounds who can move like he does. He's got great speed and great enthusiasm. He's just a good football player."
