"After that is when I realized that there were a few other guys from my school that went to Notre Dame. That's pretty cool. It's nice to know that I can continue the tradition there." The Fighting Irish have recruited the state of Florida well over the past few years and that caught Holmes' eye. In 2013, Fort Lauderdale running back Greg Bryant, Cocoa running back Tarean Folston, Fort Lauderdale linebacker Michael Deeb and Naples tight end Mike Heuerman signed with the Irish. Notre Dame added Holly- wood wide receiver Justin Ferguson (who has since transferred) in 2012, and landed Cape Coral defensive end Aaron Lynch (who left after one year in South Bend) and Miami linebacker Anthony Rabasa (a junior outside line- backer last fall) in 2011. "I know a few guys on the team from when they played ball here in Florida," Holmes mentioned. "I'm real cool with Greg and Tarean, and I've known Mike for awhile. They are good guys, and it definitely makes things easier knowing that guys from my state are there and enjoying them- selves." ✦ FILM ANALYSIS Strengths Holmes is one of the more polished wide re- ceivers in the country … He gets great separation from defenders by sticking his foot in the ground and getting to where he needs to be in a quick fashion … His ability to get in and out of his breaks is impressive … His hands are truly spe- cial — dropping passes is not something you see often from him … Does a terrific job of catching the balls away from his body and is fearless when attacking the ball at its highest point. Areas For Improvement Doesn't possess elite speed and improving his foot speed will make him more effective … Says that he will be working with a speed coach during his senior season to prepare himself for the college game.
