STATISTICS • As a senior, he completed 150 of 245 passes (61.2 percent) for 2,847 yards with 30 touchdowns and six interceptions. On the ground, he rushed for 530 yards on 62 attempts (8.5 yards per rush) and scored six touchdowns. Helped lead his team to a 13-1 record and into the third round of the Ohio state playoffs. • During junior campaign, he completed 123 of 183 attempts (67.2 percent) for 1,761 yards with 17 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He ran for 322 yards on 40 carries (8.1 yards per rush) and scored three touchdowns. He directed Central Catho- lic to a 14-1 mark and the Division II state title. RECRUITMENT • Offered by Notre Dame on June 5, 2013, and committed on June 6, 2013. • Chose the Irish over Alabama, LSU, Tennessee and Wisconsin. • Primary recruiter at Notre Dame was defensive line coach Mike Elston. • Official visit to South Bend was on Jan. 31, 2014. • Took unofficial visits to Notre Dame on June 9, 2013, Sept. 28, 2013 (game against Oklahoma) and Oct. 19, 2013 (game against USC). Now we've got three quarterbacks on cam- pus that all do the same things. You don't have to adjust your offense. All three of the quarterbacks, we finally all do the same things. "But the one thing that I loved about him, and it's similar to the other two guys that we have: This kid loves to have the ball in his hands when the game is on the line."
