BASKETBALL RECRUITING those on the radar. "I look at the whole footprint of the Big Ten," Beilein said. "There are a lot of players to go around. Many of them are very talented, and we have great high school coaching across the board. We have really solid summer basketball pro- grams being run all over the place, and we're just always looking for people who fit what we need, ath- letically and position-wise, and who fit us academically." Some initially wondered if Beilein would recruit Detroit while at Michigan — he has. Others openly questioned if his style of play would win in the Big Ten — it has. "It's not like, 'We're going to In- diana to get players, or we're going to Ohio or we're going into Michi- gan' — we're looking for all the good players who Michigan wants to recruit," Beilein said. "It just so happens right now that we have some very good Indiana players, and we're really proud to have them." Coleman reiterated that he was wide open and mentioned Michi- gan State, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio State, Purdue, Notre Dame, UCLA, Arizona, Illinois, Providence and Cincinnati as having offered, add- ing he's been leaving most of the recruiting to his father. "Lately my dad has been talking to college coaches," Coleman said. "I haven't talked to many of the coaches personally." Brunson, meanwhile, has forged a relationship with Michigan State's Tom Izzo, though he also likes Beilein. He scored 32 points to lead his team over Marian Catholic and Kentucky-bound Tyler Ulis 76-66 Jan. 24 in a monumental clash. "The state's top two point guards lived up to the hype, and No. 5 Ste-
