the Spartans in the end, Florida State and Ohio State seem more realistic — the Wolverines would gladly accept the boost to their 2014 class. Flipping him from Michigan State would move Michigan up to the No. 2 class in the Big Ten (behind Ohio State), still with fewer commits than anyone ranked ahead of them. 2015 UP AND RUNNING While the 2014 class has just been (finally) put to rest with National Sign- ing Day come and gone, Michigan's coaching staff has already reeled in four pledges for the next group of future Wolverines. The class projects to be another small one, with only 12 scholarships currently available (a number that will grow to 16-18 by Na- tional Signing Day 2015, accounting for a normal rate of attrition). Massillon (Ohio) Washington kicker Andrew David was the first to join the U-M class, making his commitment June 24. The 5-8, 170-pounder is cur- rently ranked a two-star prospect by Rivals.com, and though he struggled as a junior making only 67 percent of his field goals, he has the leg and atti- tude the Michigan coaches want to see at that position. All-Star Appearances Michigan fans are accustomed to U-M signees participating in a host of na- tional all-star games, and the 2014 class is no different. The Under Armour All- America Game boasted six future Wolverines, the most of any contest. Under Armour All-America Game, Jan. 2, St. Petersburg, Fla. OL Juwann Bushell-Beatty (backup left tackle for a rushing offense that com- piled 186 yards and one touchdown on 31 carries) LB Michael Ferns (selected, but did not participate due to injury) DT Bryan Mone (made two total tackles) CB Jabrill Peppers (captain and starter, made three total tackles, returned two kickoffs for 65 yards, blocked a field goal and completed his only pass for a two-yard loss) QB Wilton Speight (captain and starter, completed 2 of 6 passes for 63 yards with one interception) LB Jared Wangler (selected, but did not participate due to injury) U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Jan. 4, San Antonio OL Mason Cole (started at left tackle for an offense that compiled 47 rushing yards and one touchdown on 19 carries) Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, Jan. 4, Orlando, Fla. DE Lawrence Marshall (started at defensive end and made one tackle for loss) LB Chase Winovich (started at linebacker and led his team in tackles with five) USA International Bowl, Feb. 7, Arlington, Texas DE Lawrence Marshall (selected but did not participate)
