INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS Freshman long distance runner Erin Finn has already won the 6,000-meter Big Ten cross country individual cham- pionship and the Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Year award. During in- door track and field season, she won the Big Ten title in the 5,000-meter run (15:52.11), setting a school record, and won the Big Ten Indoor Freshman of the Year award. Nickname: "Nothing too specific. A lot of the girls on the team call me 'Finn' or 'E-Finn.' Mostly, everyone just calls me Erin." Other Sports She Enjoys Playing: "Before I started running, I did soccer and gymnastics. I actually went to a Michigan gymnastics meet recently, and it really made me miss gymnastics. I did gymnastics since basically the time I could walk all the way through ninth grade, so it was a really big part of my life. I miss it, but I definitely made the right decision to go into running." Hobbies: "I love to read and hang out with friends and family. Church is a re- ally big part of my life." Favorite TV Show: "'Modern Family.'" Last Movie She Saw That She'd Rec- ommend: "'Frozen.' It was so good. It's very catchy. If you want to be singing a song for a long time, you should go watch that movie." What She Likes To Do With Her Teammates: "Outside of practice, we like to go out to eat together. We always watch 'The Bachelor' together, every week. That is the No. 1 fun thing we do. We spend a lot of time together, going to the mall or doing homework." Favorite Professional Athlete: "Lau- ren Fleshman. She is a professional run- ner. She is really cool. She is very down to earth, and she is about a lot more than just running. She is really into help- ing other people, and she's funny. And she's also a great runner." Dream Vacation: "I would love to go on either a Mediterranean cruise or take a trip to Ireland.
