INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS gan back to the NCAA Tournament? Copp: "I think I'm up for the challenge. It's not just going to be me — you'll see a collection of guys. Different players will step up at different times. I think you will see a team that is ready to go right from the get-go and will bring it every single night, which was a big part of our downfall last year. "We beat two of the best teams in the country, two teams that were in the Frozen Four, but we couldn't beat the teams we should have, and that's going to be a big focus for us in the offseason and next year." The Wolverine: How much inspiration do you draw from Glendening, who is now playing for the Detroit Red Wings? Copp: "You look at his road and you look at my road and they were pretty similar in that we were both overlooked coming into college, but there were some differences too. At the end of the day, he's where he wants to be and I'm not there yet. His story is a little better than mine but hopefully one day I can achieve the same goals and be a consistent player in the NHL, and lead Michi- gan to Frozen Fours like he did as captain." — Michael Spath TheWolverine.com's Facebook Feed This month, we asked fans of our Facebook page (facebook.com/ TheWolverineMagazine): With Mitch McGary needing to make a decision on his pro future by the NBA Draft deadline of April 27, what are your expectations for the Michigan basketball team next season with Mitch McGary and, potentially, without McGary? Torey Whitten: "With him, we win the Big Ten and go to the Final Four. Without him, we finish third in the Big Ten and go to the Sweet 16." Aaron Piening: "With him, we could win it all. Without him, we are probably a 7-10 seed in the NCAA Tournament and could lose in the second round." Justin Noordyke: "With McGary we could be an Elite Eight team, possibly, a Final Four team depending on how fast these young guys jell and learn the sys- tem. Without McGary, they would probably be a NIT team. He needs to return." Chip Green: "I like their chances, with or without." Jonathan Poletti: "Either way, they will be fine." Christopher DeYonke: "With him we have two potential All-Americans and four players that could be the B1G's best at their position in Derrick Walton, Zak Irvin, Caris LeVert and McGary. Need Spike Albrecht and the freshmen for depth. Without him we have one All-American candidate and the need for one of the freshmen to be more than depth, but rather a major contributor."
