  INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS As voted by his teammates, center Andrew Copp has been named cap- tain for the Wolverines in 2014-15. The rising junior is in line to become the fifth U-M skater in the Red Berenson era to wear the 'C' in two seasons if he dons the letter again as a senior in 2015-16, and the first since Luke Glen- dening in 2011 and 2012. The Wolverine: What was it like when you were announced as captain? Copp: "It was pretty exciting. You don't really dream about it or think about it until it happens, but I am in- credibly honored to be the captain at Michigan. It's nice to be recognized that you're doing the right things on and off the ice, and hopefully you don't change what you're doing but stick to what got you here." The Wolverine: What did it mean that the choice came from a vote by the team instead of an appointment by the coaches? Copp: "I think it reinforces that the guys see what I'm doing every day and want me to be the one to lead them, and try to get everyone on the same page and do the right things on and off the ice. So it means a lot more knowing that my teammates voted for me." The Wolverine: How will your role change going forward? Copp: "My goal is to be an example in the community, knowing you're repre- senting Michigan at all times. And now it's even more amplified. I think I know exactly what my job entails and what I have to do."
