Favorite Sport Outside Basketball: "It used to be baseball, but I'm learning toward football now, just because it's big here. I enjoy watching the games. Favorite Michigan Football Player: "One of my buddies is Shane Morris, so I'd have to say him." — John Borton Nik Stauskas Clearing Room On The Trophy Shelf Sophomore Nik Stauskas didn't like the way he played in last year's Final Four. So he set about to improve his game, putting countless hours of effort into it during the offseason. If ever hard work paid off in short order, it has in this instance. Stauskas be- came the Big Ten's best player over the course of the season, and has been increasingly recognized as one of the nation's finest on the hardwood. Stauskas has been honored again, making the Wooden Award All-American squad March 31. He joined Creighton's Doug McDermott, Connecticut's Sha- bazz Napier, Wichita State's Cleanthony Early, Arizona's Nick Johnson, Cincin- nati's Sean Kilpatrick, Duke's Jabari Parker, Florida's Casey Prather, Louisville's Russ Smith and Kansas' Andrew Wiggins on the team. Stauskas was also named a 2014 Associated Press second-team All-American. The first-teamers were McDermott, Parker, Smith, Napier and Kilpatrick.
