MICHIGAN RECRUITING
open some eyes around the country.
Wide receiver will be a major need
for the Wolverines' 2016 class, based
on the other two new offers. Tampa
(Fla.) Catholic prospect Nate Craig
and Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek's
Cameron Chambers both heard good
news from Michigan April 17.
Craig will likely be the tougher pull
for Michigan. He has 23 offers, and an
early top five of Auburn, Ohio State,
Clemson, Tennessee and Florida State.
The 6‑2, 195‑pounder fits the pro‑style
mold that Michigan's coaching staff
prefers, but there is an uphill battle
to even gain his interest, much less
secure a commitment.
Michigan may have a better chance
with Chambers, in no small part be‑
cause the U‑M coaching staff has re‑
cruited Timber Creek High School
with regularity in recent years, in‑
cluding two offers in the 2013 class
— defensive tackle Greg Webb and
defensive end DaJuan Drennon, both
of whom signed with North Carolina.
Like Craig, Chambers is a classic out‑
side receiver, standing 6‑2, 205 with
the ability to stretch a defense deep
and go up for jump balls downfield.
Michigan's offer list is constantly
evolving, and with a host of new
offers going out early in the spring
evaluation period, the staff will con‑
tinue to seek out the best talents in the
nation. ❏
