MICHIGAN RECRUITING is likely to generate bigger interest with a strong offseason. As one of the top prospects in Michigan, he could be a candidate for a U-M offer with a strong performance at camp this summer. Jackson (Ohio) linebacker Reagan Williams — March 15 visit Williams is a four-star recruit, the No. 10 inside linebacker nationally and the No. 13 prospect in Ohio. He holds offers from Indiana and Purdue, along with some MAC programs. He is a long-framed linebacker, but Michigan has also mentioned that they like his skills at tight end. New Lenox (Ill.) Providence Catholic wide receiver/tight end Miles Boykin — April 5 visit Boykin is a four-star recruit, the No. 114 overall prospect and No. 10 wide receiver nationally, and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Illinois. The 6-3, 212-pounder has had interest in Michigan for some time, but this was his first visit to town. Although he is mostly known as a wide receiver, some schools among his dozen-plus offers like his flexibility to move to tight end down the road. He is visiting along with the others from Core 6 Athletes — a highly re- garded Chicago-based athletic-training organization. Jefferson City (Mo.) Helias tight end Hale Hentges — April 5 visit Hentges is a four-star recruit, the No. 150 overall prospect and No. 4 tight end nationally, and the No. 3 recruit in Missouri. The 6-4, 230-pounder has a couple dozen offers, including U-M, Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State and Stanford. This was his first trip to Ann Arbor. Buffalo (N.Y.) Canisius tight end/defensive end Tyrone Wheatley Jr. — April 5 visit Wheatley is a four-star recruit, the No. 219 overall prospect and No. 15 strongside defensive end nationally, and the top player in New York. The 6-6, 245-pounder could also play tight end in college, and, in fact, that has been his preference in the past. He is the son of former U-M running back Tyrone Wheat- ley, and has offers from Alabama, Syracuse and USC, among others. Avon (Conn.) Old Farms tight end Chris Clark — April 18 visit Clark is a 6-6, 245-pound four star. He is ranked the No. 176 overall prospect and No. 7 tight end in the nation, and the second-best player in Connecticut. He recently decommitted from North Carolina, and has family encouraging him to take a strong look at Notre Dame. Coming out of his weekend trip to Ann Arbor and Columbus, he counts U-M and OSU as his top two. Lawrenceville (N.J.) Prep offensive lineman Grant Newsome — April 18 visit Newsome is a 6-7, 280-pound four-star recruit. He is outside the Rivals250, but is the No. 30 offensive tackle in the nation and No. 8 overall player in New Jersey. He is considering a long list of schools that includes Alabama, Miami, Ohio State and Wisconsin.
