2014 BASKETBALL RECRUITING ISSUE "And it's exciting to join a program that is having as much success as they are right now. They have had a great three years, going to the NCAA championship game, and they were so close to another Final Four this year. That was a heartbreaker against Kentucky. "The culture and the work ethic is basically why the program is where it's at. I am excited to be a part of that." Chatman (6-8, 213 pounds) is still not exactly sure what position he will end up playing next season. He will learn more after he gets to Michigan, which he plans to do shortly after a tryout for the Team USA Under-18 squad June 10. Chatman could either play the four, a position of need for Michi- gan since Glenn Robinson III entered the NBA Draft; or the three, which is where many feel rising sophomore Zak Irvin will log the majority of his minutes next season. Either way, Chatman knows he can make an impact as soon as he arrives. "Coming in and knowing that, as a freshman, you're going to have a chance to play and show that you can contribute right away is exciting," he said. "There is going to be a lot of competition, and it puts a lot of fire underneath you. I am really excited to compete at the next level. "I'm working hard right now, so I can be ready to go when I get there. I am getting better at getting to the rim and drawing defenders. I'm a good passer. My mid-range game is pretty good. I am working on moving off screens and getting into the paint and finding my teammates." ❑
