A VERY GOOD HIRE
Dear The Wolverine:
On April 2, 2007, I was riding the
escalator to my seat at the Final Four
in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. I
soon realized that the gentleman in
front of me was Mike Lupica of The
New York Daily News and the ESPN
Sports Reporters.
Michigan had just announced that
John Beilein would be the new bas-
ketball coach. I asked his opinion of
the hire and Lupica said, "You might
not be familiar with Coach Beilein in
Michigan but I promise you, you will
be ecstatic with this hiring!"
Time has shown that he was ex-
actly correct. Yes, we have to retool
