COMMITMENT PROFILE FILM EVALUATION Strengths: Alex Malzone has the above-average arm you expect out of a baseball player, but more importantly he's extremely accurate. His throwing mechanics are consistent and he's able to hit his receivers in stride every time. He also has above-average footwork, especially considering that he isn't a year-round football player, something that is becoming more rare in this day and age of specialization. Malzone also comes with a winning pedigree. He has a chance to capture four straight state championships on the gridiron and three on the baseball diamond for Brother Rice. That intangible can be valuable for a program look- ing to return to its winning ways. Areas of Improvement: While he already displays solid pocket presence, Malzone will need to be a technician, because at 6-2, his less-than-ideal height can be a hindrance at the next level if he can't properly manipulate his position in the pocket. Michigan Player Comparison: It's never bad to be compared to a national champion, and Brian Griese (1993-97) was able to lead the Wolverines to the title as a fifth-year senior. Like Griese, Malzone has most of the tools without standing out physically in one particular area. Also like the 10-year NFL vet, he is a proven winner. — Analysis From TheWolverine.com
