S ophomore center Mitch McGary certainly contemplated casting his lot in the NBA Draft after his injury- plagued 2013-14 season, like he did following his coming-out party as a freshman. The NCAA wound up sup- plying all the nudge he needed. Its one-year suspension for a posi- tive test for marijuana during the NCAA Tournament proved the end of the Michigan road for McGary, who already sat out the entire 2014 Big Ten regular season and the entire postsea- son with a back injury. He is now pre- paring for the NBA Draft as best he can, but even that isn't a smooth path. McGary is not participating in the NBA's pre-draft combine. McGary told The Detroit Free Press his back is not yet ready for him to be showcased in that fashion. "Mark [Bartelstein, of Priority Sports, who is representing McGary] feels, and I do, as well, that I'm not 100 percent, and he doesn't want me to play unless I'm at 110 percent," Mc- Gary said. "He doesn't want to reveal me to anybody until I'm 100 percent, and I feel as if I'm a couple weeks out. I plan to. I'm letting Mark handle a lot of it. I don't know who or when or what [teams]. Right now, I'm just focusing trying to rehab my back."
