INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS MICHIGAN'S TOP OLYMPIC SPORTS PERFORMERS Baseball sophomore Evan Hill: The Mt. Pleasant, Mich., native earned Big Ten Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors May 13 after recording 12 shutout innings in wins over Central Michigan and Ohio State. After earning the win with four hitless innings against his hometown Chippewas May 6, Hill allowed only five hits in a season-high eight innings of work in a 5-1 win over the Buckeyes May 10. Hill went 2-2 with a 2.75 ERA in his final seven Big Ten starts. Tennis junior Sarah Lee: In Michigan's season-ending loss to No. 16 USC May 10, Lee did all she could to pre- vent it, winning her doubles match with teammate Amy Zhu and her singles match in securing U-M's only points of the day. The Los Angeles native went 31-10 overall this season (.756 winning percentage), including a 10-1 mark in Big Ten play that helped lead the Wolverines to their fifth straight conference crown. Lee needs only 10 more victories in her senior year to become the fourth athlete in school history with 100 in a career. Lacrosse grad student Thomas Paras: The Lake- wood, Ohio, native was named team MVP in the pro- gram's third year at the varsity level. Paras ranked third on the team in points with 28 and tied the U-M single- season assist record with 15. His 45 career goals cur- rently stand as the Maize and Blue's all-time mark. After graduating with a degree in sports management, Paras spent the 2013-14 year enrolled in the Ross School of Business. Softball senior Taylor Hasselbach: A longtime re- serve, starting just 14 games prior to her senior sea- son, Hasselbach enjoyed a career year, earning All- Great Lakes Region first-team honors. She was hitting .322 with nine home runs, nine doubles and 40 RBI in 36 starts and 47 total appearances through the first weekend of NCAA Tournament play May 16-18. The Clarkston, Mich., native was previously named All-Big Ten second team.
