2014 BASKETBALL RECRUITING ISSUE
last summer. Getting him on campus
would be step one, but he seems UNC
bound even though he insists, "The
door is still wide open.
"I will probably narrow things down
toward the end of the summer and at
the beginning of my senior year look to
take some visits," he said.
He added that Ohio State, South
Carolina, North Carolina, Michigan,
Georgetown, Georgia Tech and Kansas
are recruiting him the hardest.

Ahrens is still working his way back
from a broken leg and hasn't shot the
ball as well as he can in early AAU ac-
tion with King James Shooting Stars.
He was averaging 4.1 points per game
while shooting 33.3 percent from three-
point range and 31.4 percent overall
through eight games as of May 11, but
Michigan has been in to watch him
and continues to track him.
"I have quite a bit of Big Ten and
Atlantic-10 schools looking at me," he
said. "I'll probably make a decision
after this summer — I've been talking
to Michigan for a quite a bit now. It's
amazing over there."
U-M could be tough to beat with an
offer, but Ahrens will have to work to
earn one. He's been on the Michigan
campus a number of times and holds
offers from Boston College, Butler,
Iowa and others. ❑
