FOOTBALL RECRUITING tion nationally, and he runs with the power you'd expect. Mike Weber • Detroit Cass Tech • 5-10, 205 Four-star, No. 10 running back and No. 123 overall player nationally Michigan was the early favorite for Weber, who has rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his two years on the varsity level thanks to his top-end speed and vision in a zone attack. However, a focus on Harris saw Michigan slow down its pursuit. Now, new offensive coordi- nator Doug Nussmeier has ramped the interest back up, and Weber 's affinity for Michigan State and Notre Dame can be overcome. Wide Receiver Commits: 0 Needs: 1-2 As was the case at running back, Michigan seemed to fill a big-time need when five-star George Camp- bell pledged last August. However, the Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake standout decommitted, and U-M is back to square one. While the Wol- verines are technically still in conten- tion, they'll likely land someone else at the position for 2015. George Campbell • Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake • 6-3, 182 Five-star, No. 2 wide receiver and No. 16 overall player nationally Unlike with Harris, who seems likely to have Michigan near the top of his list even after decommitting, the Wolverines will have an uphill battle to re-secure Campbell. His former teammate, offensive lineman Mason Cole, is a freshman in Ann Arbor, but the Southeast has a par- ticular allure to the five-star. Clem- son, Florida and LSU have piqued his interest. Campbell has the size and speed (he was the fastest player at the Under Armour Combine in January with a 4.37 40-yard dash) to be a difference-maker at the next level. Miles Boykin • New Lenox (Ill.) Provi- dence Catholic • 6-4, 222 Four-star, No. 10 wide receiver and No. 114 overall player nationally Boykin has the frame of a tight end, but the skills of a wide receiver.
