FOOTBALL RECRUITING since backed off that. Michigan is his public leader, but he is also consid- ering Ohio State and Notre Dame — the school his family prefers — as prime contenders. Offensive Line Commits: 1 Needs: 2 Michigan's lone offensive line com- mitment to date is a familiar name in Jon Runyan Jr. The son of the former U-M and NFL lineman is a 6-4, 250-pound three-star who will likely be an interior lineman at the next level. He is currently ranked the No. 31 offensive guard in the na- tion by Rivals.com. That means the Wolverines are still seeking a true of- fensive tackle in addition to another likely combo player who can line up anywhere up front. Drew Richmond • Memphis (Tenn.) University School • 6-6, 313 Four-star, No. 5 offensive tackle and No. 32 overall player nationally Richmond is one of the top un- committed offensive linemen in the country, with offers from Alabama, Ohio State and Florida State, among others. Michigan wasn't in his nar- rowed top-11 list, but he plans to take a trip to Ann Arbor this summer to give the Wolverines a chance to get in the mix. Matthew Burrell • Woodbridge (Va.) C.D. Hylton • 6-4, 286 Four-star, No. 7 offensive guard and No. 135 overall player nationally Burrell is close friends with 2014 No. 1 prospect Da'Shawn Hand, whom the Wolverines narrowly missed out on landing. He's famil- iar with Michigan due to his trips to Ann Arbor alongside Hand. He's a true guard prospect with excellent size, and Michigan's interest will be reciprocated. Grant Newsome • Lawrenceville (N.J.) Prep School • 6-7, 280 Four-star, No. 30 offensive tackle nationally Newsome could be Michigan's best shot among the offensive line- men currently holding Wolverine of- fers. He named U-M and Penn State his favorites after touring both in the spring, and will make a return trip to Lawrenceville (N.J.) Prep School product Grant Newsome, the No. 30 offensive tackle in the land according to Rivals.com, has named U-M and Penn State his favorites. PHOTO COURTESY RIVALS.COM
