PREP PROFILES North Carolina Defensive End Wants To See Michigan U-M's Barbecue at The Big House recruiting event July 27 was a suc- cess once again, but one prospect the coaches hoped to get on campus didn't make it. Raleigh, N.C., is the home to one of the na- tion's top pass rushers in weak- side defensive end Kengera Daniel, whom the Wolver- ines were expect- ing to make some headway with. T h e y ' r e s t i l l working on getting Daniel on cam- pus. They're in need for pass rushers in the 2015 class, and he fits the bill. "I'm definitely a pass-rush guy, but other than that, you'd probably see a really long guy who basically sets the edge and makes sure no one gets out- side," Daniel said of his game. "I'm definitely going to continue working on everything. There's no specific thing I want to work on." Daniel has stayed in touch with cornerbacks coach (and area re- cruiter) Roy Manning since May, when Michigan offered. "He already knew who I was from watching film. He has basically told me that I'm definitely wanted there," he said. "I could play D-end and line- backer. … He's talked about the aca- demic standpoint and the quality of the school." Daniel is just as interested in see- ing how he'd fit with current players on the roster. It's not just about the starters and the stars, he said, but the other athletes who might not play as much and how they're treated. Alabama, Bos- ton College, In- diana, Kentucky, Louisville, Mi- ami, Michigan, Tennessee, Vir- ginia and Wake Forest are among those who have o f f e r e d . H e plans to delay the process until a few games into his senior season to gather all the offers and interest he can before he begins to break down his list. "The plan right now is to start the season off, have a couple of good games, see if there any more schools interested in me and see how many committable offers I have," he said. "Then I'll check out those new schools that are interested and hopefully have a list of four or five schools that I am planning on going to [official visits], and then make my decision." Alabama, Tennessee and Ken- tucky are "definitely" three of the top schools he wants to officially visit, but that is subject to change at any time. Michigan will need to get him on campus to have a shot. — Chris Balas ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Millbrook High School Raleigh, N.C.
