uring head coach Ara Parseghi-
an's 11-year reign at Notre Dame
(1964-74), there were three multi-year
starters at quarterback one could put
on an "All-Ara" team.
• Terry Hanratty finished No. 6,
No. 9 and No. 3 in the Heisman Tro-
phy balloting from 1966-68, respec-
tively.
• Joe Theismann (1968-70) rewrote
the Notre Dame passing records while
also rushing for more than 1,000 career
yards. He was the Heisman runner-up
in 1970 and led an upset of No. 1 Texas
in the Cotton Bowl.
• Tom Clements (1972-74) directed
the 1973 national title, finished fourth
