3 The only three NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision programs to have not faced a non-FBS opponent since the current setup was established in 1978 are Notre Dame, USC and UCLA. Among the Associ- ated Press top 10 teams entering the weekend of Sept. 13 (Notre Dame was ranked 11th), only two were not scheduled to play a Football Championship Series opponent in 2014: Oklahoma and USC. 25 / 1 Notre Dame's championship odds, per Bovada in Las Vegas. The odds moved from 66/1 at the beginning of the season to 50/1 after the 48-17 victory against Rice Aug. 30 to 25/1 following the 31-0 romp against Michigan Sept. 6. 28 Alumni from Notre Dame on NFL opening-day rosters, which is tied for No. 10 with Ten- nessee for most by a school. The list was dominated by SEC and warm-weather schools. LSU was No. 1 with 38, followed by USC (37), Alabama (36), Georgia (34), and then Flor- ida and Florida State tied for fifth (33 apiece). Rounding out the top 10 were Miami (31), a tie between California and Ohio State (29 apiece), and then the Irish and Volunteers. 54.80 Average ranking of the Atlantic Coast Conference schools (including Notre Dame) per the "National Universities" rankings of the latest US News & World Report. Among the "Power Five" conferences, that is the highest ahead of the Big Ten (59.21), Pac-12 (80.75), SEC (100.87) and Big 12 (112.90). Notre Dame ranked 18th overall in this year's report. 84-33-6 Notre Dame's all-time record in NFL stadiums, including 21-8-2 in current ones. The Irish will play in five current or former NFL stadiums this year. Notre Dame already has faced Purdue at Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis), and next has Syracuse at MetLife Stadium (New York Giants), Navy at FedEx Field (Washington), Arizona State at Sun Devil Stadium (former home of the Arizona Cardinals) and USC at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (former home of the Los Angeles Raiders and Rams). 131 Consecutive games that Notre Dame was not shut out, from Sept. 24, 1966, until Sept. 9, 1978 (a 3-0 defeat to Missouri in the opener). That is the Fighting Irish record — which puts into perspective Michigan's NCAA record 365 straight from October 1984 until Notre Dame's 31-0 whitewash of the Wolverines Sept. 6. Including this year's Purdue game, the Irish are currently working on a streak of 71. The last time they were shut out was 17-0 at Boston College on Nov. 8, 2008.
