While returning to Notre Dame was always his likeliest decision, and in the end his best choice, it wasn't his only option. Grant could have immediately pursued his NBA dream and opted for the draft. Even before he had to sit out the second half of the season, he was tabbed a second-round pick at best. Bet- ter to come back and make his case to scouts against ACC competition. "Of course [I wavered at some points]," he said. "At the end of the day, I had to make the best decision for me, and I thought the best decision was to come back. I talked to my parents and Coach Brey and had to waver a bit, but at the end of the day, this was the best decision. "I feel like I have unfinished business here, only playing that half season. I was playing really well and I feel like I haven't finished the goals I set for my- Prior to being suspended for the 2014 spring semester, Grant was off to the best start in his Irish career with team-leading averages of 19.0 points and 6.2 assists per game.
