INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS MAIZE AND BLUE NOTEBOOK BASKETBALL READY TO HOST Michigan men's basketball gets to host the Ann Arbor Regional of the 2014 Legends Classic at Crisler Center, prior to making its way to Brooklyn, N.Y., for the championship slate of games at the Barclays Center. The Wolverines play host to Bucknell (16-14, 11-7 in the Patriot League in 2013-14) on Nov. 17. They take on Detroit (13-19, 6-10 in the Horizon League) on Nov. 20. Then the competition ramps up, when the Wolverines hit New York and the Barclays Center. They face a semifinal game versus Oregon (24-10, 10-8 Pac-12) on Nov. 24 at 9 p.m. on ESPN3. Depending upon the result, they'll participate in either the third-place contest or the championship game on Nov. 25. That one will feature a game against either Villanova (29-5, 16-2 in the Big East) or VCU (26-9, 12-4 in the A10). The third-place game begins at 7:30 p.m. on ESPNU, and the championship contest at 10 p.m. on ESPN2. The trip represents the third straight year Michi- gan has played at the Barclays Center. Michigan is 2-0 there, having knocked off West Virginia 81-66 in 2012 and Stanford 68-65 in 2013. WOLVERINES SUPER ON TUESDAYS Michigan's men's basketball team is garnering plenty of prime-time attention, given its recent deep runs in the NCAA Tournament and Big Ten championship last season. The Wolverines will appear three times in ESPN's Super Tuesday broadcast schedule in 2015. The Wolverines' first crack at that spotlighted slot in the ESPN lineup comes on Jan. 13 in Columbus, Ohio. John Beilein's crew takes on Ohio State at Value City Arena in a 7 p.m. tipoff. U-M gets to play its next Super Tuesday contest at home on Jan. 27. That one features the Nebraska Cornhuskers coming to Crisler Center for a 7 p.m. contest. The third of the three is certain to be highly anticipated, as well as creating some fireworks inside Crisler. Michigan State comes to town on Feb. 17 for a 9 p.m. start against the Wolverines. Michigan went 2-0 on Super Tuesdays last year, winning at Ohio State (70-60) and at Illinois (85-53). The latter contest clinched the outright Big Ten champi- onship. HILDE NAMED U-M DIVING COACH Mike Hilde has been hired to coach Michigan's divers, after spending three years as the national/international team director and assistant coach for Mis- sion Viejo Nadadores in Mission Viejo, Calif.
