PREP PROFILES Notre Dame and Michigan may not meet on the field anymore, but they will continue to compete in recruiting. Indianapolis outside linebacker Asmar Bilal is directly involved in one of those re- cruiting battles. T h e I r i s h a n d Wolverines are both interested in the athletic Bilal, who used his speed and nose for the ball to rack up 106 total stops and 11.5 tackles for loss as a junior. Bilal explained the interest from his end. "It's pretty much just Michigan and Notre Dame for me," he said. "Neither of them has an edge right now. I don't have any type of leader at this point, I'm still completely undecided." Being completely undecided is understandable when comparing Notre Dame and Michigan. The two schools have a lot in com- mon. "They are both great schools," he said. "They are both great ac- ademically. With Michigan you get great tradition. I think it's a more diverse school. They have a great head coach and a great position coach there. They have a great strength and conditioning program as well. "With Notre Dame, it's just the great history that they have. They have a great coaching staff all around. I think Notre Dame is a little more pres- tigious. Also it's in state for me." Bilal has seen South Bend and A n n A r b o r i n p e r s o n a n d i s uncertain about checking out the campuses again before making his decision. "I'm not sure if I'll need to visit Michigan or Notre Dame this fall," he explained. "I might if I haven't decided by then. I'm not sure when I will make my deci- sion right now. Hopefully I can figure out a date soon. It didn't happen during August, but I'd like it to be soon." With a decision looming for Bilal, he said that his mind won't necessarily be in charge for his final decision. "I don't really know how I'm going to pick," he admitted. "I guess it'll just be a gut feeling of what will fit me best." — Brandon Brown ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Ben Davis High School Indianapolis Class: 2015 Position: Outside Line- backer Ht.: 6-3 • Wt.: 196 Rivals.com Rankings: No. 3 player in Indiana and No. 22 outside linebacker nationally Asmar Bilal Indiana Linebacker Is Down To Two Schools
