Other future big-name opponents in-
clude Florida for a neutral-site affair in
Arlington, Texas, for the 2017 opener;
Arkansas in 2018-19; Virginia Tech in
2020-21; UCLA in 2022-23; and Okla-
homa in 2025-26. The Huskies' addi-
tion means the Wolverines will play two
non-conference teams that rank among
the top 25 teams in NCAA all-time win-
ning percentage in the same year —
Washington (No. 18) and Virginia Tech
(No. 21).
It appears Brandon isn't done, either.
Texas and Michigan are currently dis-
cussing the possibility of a home-and-
home series in the future, according to
several sources. Though dates have yet
to be finalized, there's been specula-
tion the games would occur in the early
2020s.
Orangebloods.com writer Anwar Rich-
ardson confirmed through sources in
the Lone Star State that both schools
have discussed the possibility of facing
each other, but an agreement has not
been finalized. They are currently work-
ing on scheduling, and talks between
both schools have gone well.
Michigan and Texas have faced each
other only once, in 2004. The Long-
horns won the 2005 Rose Bowl 38-37,
when kicker Dusty Mangum nailed a
field goal as time expired.
Defensive lineman Dan Rumishek and the Wolverines came up with a 31-29 win over
Washington in 2002.
