MICHIGAN RECRUITING fensive lineman Pat Allen picked Georgia Aug. 4 with Michigan fin- ishing in second — even though he had never been to Ann Arbor. The 6-4, 285-pounder will change that Sept. 27 when he officially visits to see U-M take on Minnesota. The No. 17 offensive tackle and No. 170 overall player nationally is expected to stick with Georgia, but his first trip to U-M could change that. While Michigan's coaches do whatever they can to prevent their own commitments from seeing other schools (thus minimizing the risk of losing those pledges), they manage to take advantage of other schools' unwillingness to use the same policy for their pledges. If U-M can swipe a commit or two away from another school, the benefits of both sides of the coin will be on full display. BIG VISIT WEEKEND Michigan's game against Penn State will be a big one on the field — the Maize and Blue will look to knock off another East Division con- tender — and just as big off the field. "Under The Lights III," the third-ever night game in Michigan Stadium, will have a big-time atmosphere, as did the previous night games, both against Notre Dame. Also, like the 2011 and 2013 wins over the Irish, Michigan will be host- ing its biggest game-day recruiting event of the year. Several players committed to other schools — wide receiver Auden Tate, cornerback Mook Reynolds, corner- back Javarius Davis and offensive lineman William Sweet — are among prospects with other commitments under their belts expected to see U-M battle the Nittany Lions (see previous note). That's three four-stars and a three-star (Davis) among elsewhere- committed recruits alone. It doesn't get any less impressive when taking into account senior prospects who have yet to make a commitment of any sort. Five-star defensive end/outside linebacker Keisean Lucier-South of Orange, Calif., is the No. 30 overall prospect and the No. 3 outside linebacker (though Michigan is recruiting him Detroit Cass Tech's LaVert Hill, Rivals.com's No. 12 cornerback and No. 222 overall player in the junior class, will be one of the many high‑profile recruits at The Big House when Michigan hosts Penn State Oct. 11.
