INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS Getting To Know Sophomore Volleyball Middle Blocker Abby Cole After being named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team last year, sophomore middle blocker Abby Cole is off to a great start in her second year at Michigan. At 6-5, Cole is a dominating presence in the middle, defending the net and recording kills. Nickname: "In high school a lot of people called me 'Godzilla,' which I thought was pretty funny. They call me 'Cole' and 'AC' here at the gym because it's easy to yell while we're playing." Favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor: "I re- ally like this place in Kerrytown called The Lunch Room." Best meal she can cook by herself : "Probably a nice ravioli dinner with some steamed vegetables and some nice fruit. I'm not the best cook in the world, but that sounds good." Sports she plays besides volleyball: "I started playing tennis when I was 4. I played that until my freshman year of high school. I also played basketball through my senior year of high school, and we won the cham- pionship my junior and senior years." Hobbies: "I'm really into photography. If I'm going somewhere with my friends I'll al- ways bring my camera. I have a nice camera, and I just love taking pictures. I'm not sure if this is a hobby, but I love shopping for good deals at T.J. Maxx. I like to find the hottest deal I can." Favorite TV show: "'Friends,' for sure." Favorite movie: "'Sweet Home Alabama.'" Dream vacation: "I really want to go to Greece." Favorite professional athlete: "I'd say Tim Tebow because he's on such a platform being a big-time athlete, and he's very outward in sharing his faith, which is a huge part of my life too. It's inspiring to see him live that out." Role model: "My role model would have to be my mom. I'm just very thankful Cole, who was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team last year, said her U-M experience so far has been "an absolute dream come true."
