and she shined the brightest in the NJ-
SIAA Tournament of Champions. She
tallied 32 points in the semifinal vic-
tory, and then in what was described
as one of the greatest state showdowns
in New Jersey annals, versus St. Rose,
she led a 59-55 triumph while recording
36 points — 17 in the fourth quarter,
including the final 13.
Then in the McDonald's All-Ameri-
can Game while helping her East team
to a 89-87 win over the West, Mabrey
tallied 12 points to go with six rebounds
and three steals to share co-MVP hon-
ors with the West's Te'a Cooper, who
will play at Tennessee.
Playing time will be difficult to come
by next year in the backcourt and along
the wing, where Notre Dame returns
Allen, fifth-year senior Madison Cable,
senior and 2014-15 captain Michaela
Mabrey — the older sister of Marina
— plus Johnson, who was hobbled by
a knee injury.
Marina Mabrey, a 5-10 wing from Manasquan (N.J.) High, averaged 26.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.1
assists per game while leading her team to a state title this season.
