FOOTBALL RECRUITING ROUNDUP RECRUITING NOTES • Notre Dame's most anticipated home game of the 2015 season is still five months away, but the Oct. 17 meeting against Southern California looks like it will be one of the most important dates of the entire recruiting cycle. The Irish have already locked up a pair of official visitors for the weekend in Corona (Calif.) Centennial High teammates Javon McKinley and Chaco Ulloa, and are in the process of securing a trip from Savannah (Ga.) Christian School five-star wide receiver Demetris Robertson. While swinging a visit from Robertson, who decommitted from Alabama April 17, would be an im- pressive recruiting coup for the Irish, getting McKinley and Ulloa on campus is just as important for the coaching staff. The duo took an unofficial visit to South Bend April 24 and left high on the program. "People say that you either love Notre Dame or you hate it, and I love the school," McKinley said. The 6-2, 195-pound McKinley is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 15 wide receiver in the country and the nation's No. 80 overall prospect. Ulloa, who was offered during the visit to campus, checks in at 6-0 and 190 pounds and is the No. 45 prospect in California and the No. 24 safety in the country. Irish offensive coordinator Mike Sanford saw both prospects during the spring evaluation period. Robertson, who is the No. 1 athlete in the country and the top prospect in Georgia, also got a visit from the staff. • The Irish already have two offensive linemen on board with Cincinnati Elder four-star tackle Tommy Kraemer and Cleveland St. Ignatius three-star tackle Liam Eichenberg committed to the class. The staff would like to add at least one more body to the unit, and a top target will be on campus June 10-11. Orlando (Fla.) Bishop Moore four-star offensive tackle Parker Boudreaux will fly to South Bend with his entire family to see the campus and meet with the Irish coaching staff. The 6-5, 291-pound tackle claims more than 70 scholarship offers, but he explained there's a reason why he wants to visit Notre Dame after trimming his list of schools down to a final 10. "I have always liked Notre Dame," Boudreaux said. "It was kind of getting crazy with all of the schools talking to me … Notre Dame [made the cut] because Bishop Moore is like a mini-Notre Dame. It's a small, private, Catholic school with good academics and tradition." Boudreaux is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 42 prospect in Florida and the No. 22 offensive tackle in the country. He was a Class 5-A second-team all-state selection as a junior. • Notre Dame has not had much success recruiting Southern California in recent years, but the Irish are hoping to buck that trend this cycle. The coaching staff made the rounds in the area during the spring evaluation period, and that included a stop at Fontana (Calif.) Summit to check up on four-star athlete Damian Alloway. Alloway, who is ranked as the No. 99 prospect in the country, does not hold a scholarship offer from the Irish, but if he did, he knows what it would mean. "It would change my life," he said. "It would really change my life." Notre Dame is looking for speed at wide receiver in this class, and Alloway — who checks in at 5-8, 165 pounds — has plenty of it. He accounted for 1,277 yards of offense last season and is pegged by Rivals. com as the No. 13 recruit in California and the No. 7 athlete in the nation. — Andrew Ivins Follow @BGI_aivins and @BGI_JWells on Twitter for daily recruiting updates available on BlueandGold.com!
