and building relationships with them," Gibbs Jr. said. "I really thought it was a family there, and I can't wait to play there the next four to five years." NJ.com tabbed the new Irish commit second-team all-state this past winter, after he averaged 19.9 points, 4.0 re- bounds, 3.2 assists and 1.7 steals per game while leading Seton Hall Prep to a 25-2 record. He also held offers from Connecticut, Oklahoma, Georgetown, Virginia, St. John's, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, Miami and Auburn, among others. His oldest brother Ashton was first- team All-Big East at Pittsburgh in 2010- 11, and middle brother Sterling was second-team All-Big East at Seton Hall this past season (he has since opted to transfer to Connecticut). While Gibbs Jr. is the highest ranked of the trio coming out of the prep scene, Rivals.com national analyst Eric Bossi cautions against placing expecta- tions too high for the teenager. "I feel bad sometimes for kids with brothers who have had the type of suc- cess that Gibbs' older brothers have had in college," Bossi said. "I think it's important to let Temple have his own identity and not have to be constantly compared to his broth- ers. I think it is very fair to look at them and say that odds are he will have a successful career, but to project him as a better than first-team All-Big East guy before he's even started his senior year in high school? I don't think that would be fair. "I would just say to expect him to be a valuable player and likely starter for at least a couple of years." ✦ BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED • P.O.
