WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD WINS FIRST BIG TEN TITLE IN 10 YEARS The Michigan women's track and field team claimed the program's first indoor title since 2006, marking its 16th overall Big Ten champion- ship and its ninth indoor crown. Longtime head coach James Henry loves the idea of how his team came together and won a league champi- onship for the first time in a decade. "That's always our goal," he said. "We work hard as a family, and we expect and want everybody to con- tribute. Whether it be scoring, effort or results, we want everyone to be a part of the program. "If everyone feels like they have a role, we will succeed, and I think we had exactly that." The Wolverines found themselves in third place after day one, but they had a sense of confidence heading into the second day of competition. Henry had discussions with his team and relayed the message that a title was very realistic. "We thought we had a good shot down the stretch," Henry said. "… During the process we knew that we had the most athletes in the finals and they just had to perform at the level of their expectations.
