He began his coaching career at his alma mater, the University of Massachusetts, where he worked with Brown. Tony Tuioti joined the program as director of player personnel after spending the past two seasons as the defensive quality control coach for the Cleveland Browns. Tuioti spent the previous six seasons at the University of Hawaii as the team's line- backers coach (2012-13), defensive tackles coach (2010-11) and director of player personnel (2008-09). Prattville (Ala.) High's Antonio "Bam" Richards was also on site after being hired as an offensive analyst. Richards was Prattville's strength and conditioning coach since 2012 and was part of title teams in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011. He holds an undergraduate degree and a master's from Alabama State. Former Prattville standouts Keith Washington (red- shirt freshman cornerback) and Kingston Davis (fresh- man running back) are currently on the team. Devin Bush Sr., the father of freshman linebacker Devin Bush Jr., has joined the staff as a defensive ana- lyst. Bush Sr. led Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan High School to a state championship last season as head coach. He was a safety on Florida State's 1993 national title team and played eight years in the NFL, including on the 1999 St. Louis Rams, who won the Super Bowl. Former Flanagan players Josh Metellus and Devin Gil will also be freshmen on Michigan's roster next season. San Jose State assistant Jimmie Dougherty will re- unite with Harbaugh in Ann Arbor after being hired as an offensive assistant. The two worked together when Harbaugh was San Diego's coach from 2004-06, with Dougherty the team's wide receivers coach in '04, tight ends coach the following year and quarterbacks coach in Harbaugh's final season. The last three openings came after Michigan lost three assistants — former offen- sive analyst T.J. Weist to South Florida (co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach), defensive analyst Matt Barnes to Maryland (linebackers coach) and staffer Erik Campbell to UConn for a full-time assistant job (wide receivers coach). Former director of football operations Rick Finotti has moved into the role of de- fensive analyst, with Harbaugh promoting Tony DeFeo to Finotti's old job. The Wolverines are also reportedly close to hiring former Baltimore Gilman School head coach Biff Poggi — father of Michigan fullback Henry Poggi — to a staff posi- tion. Poggi was head coach at Gilman for 19 seasons. — Chris Balas Chris Partridge is the new linebackers/special teams c o a c h a f t e r s e r v i n g a s Michigan's director of player personnel in recruiting since January 2015.
