PREP PROFILES A newly minted five-star after the February update to the Rivals100, Detroit Cass Technical wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones continues to improve his play and develop physically. Listed at 6-1 and 188 pounds, but likely bigger now, he is one of the most well-rounded wide receiver prospects to come out of the Mid- west in the last decade. Peoples- Jones is ranked as the top player in M i c h i g a n , a n d the No. 2 wide- out and No. 13 overall prospect in the country. Last summer, he became the first underclass- man to win the N i k e F o o t b a l l Rating Challenge, which tests raw athleticism. He has demonstrated the work ethic to maximize his potential, making him a must get for the Maize and Blue in their backyard. Peoples-Jones has his pick of schools, and released a top 10 in Jan- uary consisting of Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford, Tennes- see, Texas A&M and USC. "I plan to visit Florida State, and that is probably the only school I am pursuing at this point outside of my top 10," Peoples-Jones said. "They always compete at a high level, and they have high-caliber coaches and recruit some of the best [prospects] in the nation. I just see their program going up." His most recent visits were to in- state programs Michigan and Michi- gan State, but he plans to travel south during spring break to see Florida State, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama and Florida. With a ton of options and a lot of upcoming travel plans, Peoples- Jones is not ex- pected to make a decision until his senior year. Both M i c h i g a n a n d Michigan State do not want to let him leave the area, but Peoples- Jones has made it clear that he'll go wherever he feels most at home. "I really don't have a timetable at this point — it will be whenever I'm comfortable," he said. "I think the spring break trip will help a lot. As much as I can get to a school, that is going to help me in my knowledge of a school." Peoples-Jones is close with his mother giving many people reason to believe he'll end up staying close to home. The football star also carries a 4.0 GPA in the classroom, giving academically prestigious Michigan a real chance to be where he ends up. — Brandon Brown Peoples-Jones Is A Top Priority For U-M ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Cass Technical Detroit Class: 2017 Position: Wide Receiver Ht.: 6-1 • Wt.: 188 Rivals.com Rankings: No. 1 player in Michigan, and No. 2 wide receiver and No. 13 overall prospect in the nation Donovan Peoples-Jones
