and awareness, you'd say those are the two most important things after sheer competitiveness, and he's got all three of those things at the highest levels. "I'm excited to see where it's going to go. [Defensive coordinator] Don [Brown] has got the eye, knows his system and the kind of player he's looking for there. It's a great fit — that position does so many things. It covers, man coverage, in zone, in run fits, in blitz tempo. It's going to be exciting to see all the different ways Jabrill can line up." CB Jourdan Lewis: Lewis was glue in coverage throughout the week and notched his share of picks and pass breakups in both scrimmage and 7-on-7 situations. One of his interceptions, a leaping grab in the middle of the field, elicited a reaction from Peppers. "I see you, All-American!" Peppers yelled. Harbaugh was equally impressed with his senior cornerback. "Jourdan Lewis was covering everything," he said. "There were a lot of real positives [in the secondary]." LB Ben Gedeon: The linebacker made all the calls, was usually in the right position and looked like he was ready for a breakout senior year as the starter in the middle. "I think Ben Gedeon is a stud," Harbaugh said. "He had a great four days of camp and is doing a tremendous job." DE Taco Charlton: The line looked massive, and Charlton was perhaps the most impres- sive of them all. Harbaugh cited the senior defensive end as an- other who had a "great four days," and he should be one of the anchors on a dominant unit. — Chris Balas Senior cornerback Channing Stribling dominated during the team's first padded practice and picked off at least one pass in each workout during U-M's time in Florida.
