As much as the coach said he'd
miss graduated senior Spike Al-
brecht, who is headed to Purdue for a
fifth year, he was steadfast in his be-
lief that carrying a third point guard
wasn't what the program needed. A
graduate transfer wing, on the other
hand, could be just what the doctor
ordered.
At one point, Beilein wouldn't have
pursued a fifth-year player. He's con-
tinued to rethink that after seeing the
impact it's had at other schools.
"I've seen it at UConn, Purdue …
there have been some guys that could
have really helped us, so I'm looking
at that, but it's absolutely got to be
the right fit," Beilein said. "It's not
our complex system that keeps peo-
ple from playing early — it's young
