ALL-SPORTS REUNION 2016
The 10th VAF All‑Sports Reunion was held Sept. 23‑25 in
Charlottesville. Over 500 UVA student‑athlete alumni and their
guests attended events and games throughout the weekend.
ACC and NCAA championship teams who reach their 10‑,
25‑ and 40‑year milestone anniversaries receive special rec‑
ognition by the Virginia Athletics Foundation. The following
anniversary teams were recognized at halftime of the Central
Michigan versus UVA football game.
Featured highlights of the weekend were the football game
and All‑Sports Tailgate. The Virginia Athletics Foundation
(VAF) provided complimentary football tickets to all returning
student‑athlete alumni and organized a tailgate, which was
held prior to the football
game. Approximately
300 attendees enjoyed
a breakfast spread by
Graves Mountain Lodge,
musical entertainment
by Chris Grooms, lawn
games and a lounge area.
The lively atmosphere
provided a fun start to
the day for student‑
athlete alumni and their
families.
In addition to the foot‑
ball game and tailgate,
several sports hosted
alumni games, open
practices, receptions and
gatherings for alumni
to reconnect with team
members and coaches.
