Three Golfers To Watch Senior Stephen Franken The Raleigh native enjoyed an impressive ju- nior season to earn ACC Player of the Year acco- lades plus second-team All-America honors from both the GCAA and Golfweek. He averaged 70.56 shots in 36 rounds played last year, which was the second lowest in NC State history. He finished in the top 10 eight times, the top five in six events and won the Wolfpack Intercollegiate. Junior Benjamin Shipp He averaged 71.94 strokes per round last year, which was second on the team. The Duluth, Ga., native earned PING All-Region East team selection, and had four top-10 finishes, two top-five show - ings and won the Golfweek Conference Challenge. He set an NC State record for NCAA Regional competition with 54-hole score of 201 at the Raleigh Regional. Sophomore Easton Paxton The former four-time U.S. junior qualifier from Riverton, Wyo., could emerge this season. He averaged 73.18 strokes per round as a fresh - man last year, and finished tied for 21st with as season-low 210 at the NCAA Regional. He was tied for 36th at the ACC Championships.
